Stewardship in the Rain Garden

Community members, families, and students have spent the spring caring for the rain garden, helping to remove weeds and nurture the space. We are excited to see the beautiful native plants emerging from last fall’s planting. Early childhood students had the opportunity to explore the garden alongside partners from the Forest Preserves, learning about the diversity of local plants and ecosystems. We look forward to continuing this stewardship work throughout the summer and watching the garden flourish as a community resource and outdoor learning space.

Additionally, 6th graders hosted a farmers market to wrap up our year long project on local ecology. We hope to continue more stewardship days this summer. Stay tuned!
