Partnering with Field Museum & Forest Preserves

Carver and Aldridge 8th Grade middle school students ventured into the Beaubian Woods! Located just south of Altgeld Gardens. On these beautiful spring days, we explored ecology in our local, neighboring forest preserves. Students gathered ways to thoughtfully incorporate natural elements into the Project Greenway design.

We partnered with the Field Museum and Forest Preserves to offer our students incredible, hands-on experiences that included hiking through the trails, tracking animal prints, and identifying plants. Students stewarded the land by removing invasive plant species and preserving the native ecosystem.
