Stewardship and exploration in Beaubian Woods with the Field Museum and Forest Preserves
Carver and Aldridge 8th Grade middle school students ventured into Beaubian Woods on separate days during the spring season to explore their local ecology more deeply and consider how these natural elements could be thoughtfully incorporated into their Project Greenway ideas and designs. The Field Museum and Forest Preserves offered them incredible, hands-on experiences that included hiking through the trails, identifying and tracking animal prints, and actively stewarding the land by removing invasive plant species to help preserve the native ecosystem.
